iOS 5 Notification Centre
The latest release from Apple for their iOS range of devices is almost here. One of the new changes will be the Notification Centre (or Center according to US Apple). Is it needed, will you use it, or is it just change for the sake of change?
Your iPhone and iPad usually has a whole host of alerts yearning for attention- new emails, SMS, friend requests, Facebook updates, and more. With the new Notification Centre, you can keep track of them all in one convenient location. The new iOS just needs you to swipe down from the top of any screen to enter Notification Centre. As always, you can easily customise this interface as well so you easily choose which notifications you want to see and how you wish to be alerted. For those inclined you could use this see a stock ticker or the current weather in your current, or another chosen location. When a new alert comes in, such as form a new email, a new notification alert appears briefly at the top of your screen, without interrupting what you’re doing. The common lock screen displays the notifications so you can act on them with just a swipe. The Notification Centre aim is to be the best way to stay on top of your life’s breaking news by keeping your all your alerts in a concise, easy to manage way. This will especially be handy for business users as well as social media pundits who have multiple accounts they use their iPhone or iPad to manage.
