iCloud Backup Importance
Quite often we have phones and tablets in for repairs that have never been backed up. Many of our customers mention that although they are aware of iCloud for backup, their phone has either used the free 5GB storage and no more is available, or they didn’t know how to set it up. Lucky for iOS users Apple has made it easier than ever to setup iCloud backup. Firstly, you will likely need more than the free 5GB of iCloud storage that Apple provide. Depending on where you are the price can differ and is payable yearly; though a small amount in comparison to data loss. This table shows the latest prices for iCloud storage upgrades and remember that once a device is linked to your account, the device can then share the storage.
We recommend to atleast choose to backup your Photo Stream, however doing a full phone backup with contacts, bookmarks, and text messages can be extremely handy. As well as iCloud we do recommend to once in a while connect to your computer and from iTunes choose the ‘Backup to My Computer” option so you also have a local backup archive as even cloud services are not infallible . To choose the backup simply go to Settings, then iCloud section, and go through the settings their to suit your needs. You can also directly upgrade your storage plan which will take you to purchase through the Apple store and be automatically available once payment processed. Also note that iCloud backup will generally work when plugged into charge, and the iOS device is locked. This is an automatic process hence the convenience and small cost of knowing your data is safe and secured. Also read more here – http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/
